Anesthesiology & Reanimation Observership Program

Program Description:

The Anesthesiology and Reanimation observership program provides a comprehensive introduction to the field of anesthesiology, focusing on both the theoretical and practical aspects of patient care. Participants will gain hands-on experience in the management of patients undergoing various surgical procedures, learning about preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative care. This program emphasizes the importance of safety in anesthesia, teaching participants about airway management, pharmacology, and the monitoring of vital signs. Additionally, participants will observe the management of critical patients in the intensive care unit, gaining insight into pain management, resuscitation, and the use of advanced life support techniques. By the end of the program, participants will have a deeper understanding of the role of anesthesiologists in the healthcare team, the complexities of perioperative care, and the importance of effective communication with patients and other healthcare professionals.

Program Objectives:

• Acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in anesthesia administration and patient preparation.
• Gain general insights into acute and chronic pain management.
• Experience emergency care and the management of critical patients.
• Learn basic and advanced life support techniques.
• Develop an ethical approach and respect for patient rights.

Major Goals:

• Address complications that may arise during anesthesia procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
• Familiarize with and utilize evidence-based medical resources.
• Stay updated on current developments in the field.
• Understand the management of intensive care patients.

Clinical Competencies:

• Airway management
• Applications outside of anesthesia and sedation
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Pre- and post-operative complication management
• Devices used in intensive care units
• Fluid and electrolyte imbalances
• Pain management (acute and chronic)

• Theoretical and observational training on weekdays
